Taiheiyo Cement Corp orders WHR unit from Kawasaki

Japan’s Taiheiyo Cement Corp has ordered a waste heat recovery (WHR) plant from Kawasaki Heavy Industries. The 8MW unit will be delivered to the company’s Saitama facility and is expected to begin operations in September 2022. Kawasaki will handle overall plant design, equipment supply, installation and commissioning advisory services, according to a press release. Kawasaki to capture CO2 in Wyoming

The Wyoming Infrastructure Authority (WIA) and the Japan Coal Energy Center have signed an MoU to research solid sorbent capture technology with the twin-goals of reducing emissions and producing cement with inputs from the coal sector. Kawasaki Heavy Industries has delivered two CK Mills to China’s Jiande Conch Cement via Anhui Conch Kawasaki Energy Conservation Equipment Manufacturing (CKM), a joint venture between Kawasaki and Anhui Conch Group.
